Don’t Fall for This Craigslist Email Recovery Scam!

Craigslist is one of the most popular websites on the internet and is used by millions of people every day. It is an online platform that allows users to buy and sell goods and services in their local area. While Craigslist is a great way to find what you need, it is not without its risks.

Recently, scammers have been targeting Craigslist users with a new type of scam. This scam involves someone sending an email claiming to be from Craigslist and offering to recover a deleted post or ad for a fee. The scammer will ask the victim to provide personal information, such as a social security number or credit card information, to supposedly verify their identity.

The problem with this scam is that it is entirely fraudulent. Craigslist does not offer any kind of recovery service, and the person claiming to be from Craigslist is actually a scammer trying to steal your money and personal information.

There are several things you can do to protect yourself from this scam. First, if you receive an email claiming to be from Craigslist offering to recover a deleted post or ad, delete it immediately. Do not respond to the email or provide any personal information.

Second, be cautious when using Craigslist. Only respond to ads from trusted sellers and never provide personal information to anyone you don’t know. Use common sense and trust your instincts.

Finally, report any fraudulent emails or ads to Craigslist so they can take action to protect other users from these scams. By working together, we can help keep Craigslist a safe and secure place for everyone to buy and sell goods and services.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
