Do You Need PlayStation Plus to Play Fortnite?

Fortnite has become one of the most popular games in the world, and it is available on a variety of platforms, including the PlayStation 4 (PS4). If you are a PS4 owner, you may be wondering whether you need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play Fortnite online.

The short answer is no, you do not need PlayStation Plus to play Fortnite. Fortnite is a free-to-play game, which means you can download and play the game for free, without having to pay any monthly fees. However, if you want to enjoy some of the game’s online features, you will need an internet connection.

The game’s online features include the ability to play with others from around the world, compete in online tournaments, and participate in weekly challenges. These features can be accessed without a PlayStation Plus subscription, but your experience may be limited.

For example, if you do not have a PlayStation Plus membership, you will not be able to use voice chat to communicate with other players while playing. Additionally, you will not be able to join or create clans, and you will not receive exclusive content that is reserved for PlayStation Plus members.

Another limitation is that without a PlayStation Plus membership, you will not be able to play some game modes, such as Battle Royale or Save the World. These game modes require an online connection, and you must have a PlayStation Plus membership to access them.

If you decide to subscribe to PlayStation Plus, you will have access to many additional features and benefits. For example, you will receive discounts on games, free monthly games, and exclusive content. You will also be able to play online with friends and family who also have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
