Minecraft is a game that has been captivating players of all ages for over a decade now. With its open-world structure, players are given immense freedom to explore and create whatever they wish. However, it is the hidden Easter eggs that make Minecraft even more interesting to play.

Easter eggs are secret features or references that are often hidden away in the game by its developers, Mojang. They can be found in different areas of the game and can vary in complexity. Here are some of the coolest Minecraft Easter eggs that you may not have known about.

1. The Secret Locations

Minecraft has several hidden villages and structures that are not easy to find. One such village is the Faraway Tree Village, which can be found in the snowy tundra biome. This village has a unique tree that stretches high into the sky and has a secret portal at its peak. The portal leads to a strange dimension with a castle.

Other secret locations in Minecraft include the Desert Temple, which has hidden treasure rooms, and the underground Stronghold, where you can find the End Portal, which leads to the game’s ultimate boss fight.

2. The “Minecraft: Story Mode” Easter Egg

“Minecraft: Story Mode” is a spinoff game that was released in 2015. In this game, players take control of a character named Jesse as they embark on a quest with their friends to save the world. Interestingly enough, there is an Easter egg in the original Minecraft game that references this spinoff.

To find the Easter egg, you need to create a new world and create a new name for it – “Jesse-land.” Once you have created the world and entered it, you will find a signpost that reads “Welcome to Jesse-land! Population: You.”

3. The Minecraft Discs

Minecraft discs are music tracks that play in the game. There are 12 discs in total, and some of them have hidden Easter eggs that you can find by playing them.

One of the most famous Easter eggs involving Minecraft discs is the “Trial of the Discs.” In this Easter egg, you need to insert the Cat and the 13 disc into a jukebox in a particular order to start the Easter egg. Once the Easter egg starts, creepy noises will play, and you will find yourself in a battle with hostile mobs.

4. The “Herkulean Effort” Achievement

The “Herkulean Effort” achievement is a secret achievement that was added in Minecraft’s 1.8 update. To earn this achievement, you need to mine a block of diamond with a diamond pickaxe while standing on a block of obsidian.

This achievement is a reference to the Greek myth of Heracles, who performed twelve seemingly impossible tasks, including the slaying of a hydra and the capture of a golden stag.

In conclusion, while Minecraft is already a fascinating game on its own, its Easter eggs provide excitement and a sense of wonder to players. From secret locations to hidden references and achievements, discovering these Easter eggs adds a layer of mystery and fun to the game. So, go ahead and explore Minecraft’s vast landscape, and who knows what hidden treasures you might find along the way!
