As we all know, YouTube is one of the most popular video-sharing platforms on the internet. It has millions of videos in different genres, and it’s a great platform to view the latest music videos, movies, podcasts, live streams and more.

But what if you want to download a video from YouTube and watch it offline later? Some content on YouTube is only available for a limited time, or maybe you don’t have a stable internet connection. Don’t worry, because there’s a solution – Chrome extensions to download YouTube videos.

Chrome extensions are small programs that can be added to your browser to enhance its functionality. There are multiple Chrome extensions that can be used to download YouTube videos, and here are a few of the most popular ones:

1) Video Downloader Plus – This extension is easy to use and can download videos from YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, and many other websites. All you have to do is click on the download button, and the video will be downloaded to your computer. You can choose the video resolution, format and save location.

2) SaveFrom.net – SaveFrom.net is a popular video downloader website, but they also have a Chrome extension that works for YouTube videos. All you have to do is add “ss” before YouTube in the video URL (e.g.

https://www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX), and the download button will appear. You can download videos in various formats like MP4, 3GP, WEBM, and more.

3) Video DownloadHelper – This extension can download videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and various other websites. You can download the video in different formats, including MP4, FLV, and more. This extension also has a conversion feature that allows you to convert the downloaded video to a different format.

4) FastestTube – This extension is one of the oldest and most reliable ones. It can download YouTube videos in different formats and resolutions. You can also download entire playlists or channels using this extension.

5) YouTube Video and Audio Downloader – This extension can download YouTube videos in both video and audio formats. You can choose the video quality and format, as well as the audio format and bitrate. This extension also has a feature to download subtitles.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
