Bite Me: The Best Things We Ate in Dallas Last Year

Dallas, a melting pot of cultures and cuisines, didn’t disappoint food enthusiasts last year. The city’s restaurants served a multitude of mouth-watering dishes, but there were several that stood out and made our taste buds sing praises. Here are some of the most memorable eats we had in Dallas.

The Brisket Taco from Velvet Taco was a game changer with its perfectly smoked brisket complemented by red chili mayonnaise, giving it a spicy kick and a comforting blend of flavors that one wouldn’t easily forget.

Pecan Lodge continued to reign supreme in the barbecue realm with their heavenly brisket that fell apart at the tenderest touch and melted like butter with each bite. It’s an authentic Texas experience not to be missed.

Italian cuisine took a lavish turn at Lucia, where the hand-crafted pasta took center stage. Their Pappardelle with wild boar ragù was richly flavored and so satisfyingly rustic that it transported diners straight to the Italian countryside.

For an upscale dining experience, Knife brought to the table an unforgettable 240-day dry-aged ribeye that was the epitome of carnivorous luxury. The depth of flavor in each marbled slice was nothing short of spectacular.

Let’s not forget about desserts! The Chocolate Glob at Emporium Pies was a decadent dream with its gooey chocolate filling encased in a flaky crust. It was pure indulgence for chocolate lovers.

Sushi enthusiasts applauded Uchi for their innovation. Their Hama Chili – featuring baby yellowtail, ponzu, Thai chili, and orange supreme – presented vibrant colors on a plate and an explosion of fresh flavors in every bite.

Vegetarians sang praises for Kalachandji’s buffet, which featured an ever-changing array of dishes. The standout was their savory squash curry that hit all the right notes for spice and comfort.

From smoky barbecue to gourmet steaks, handcrafted pasta to innovative sushi creations, and some indulgent desserts—Dallas proved once again why it is one of America’s best food cities. With another year ahead, we can only wait with eager forks to see what Dallas chefs will cook up next!
