Introduction:

Microwave bacon may not be the first cooking method that comes to mind, but it should be. Not only is it quick and easy, but it also results in perfectly cooked, crispy bacon every time. Say goodbye to greasy stovetop messes and hello to this efficient method. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to make the best microwave bacon, along with some helpful tips and tricks.

Ingredients:

– Bacon (your preferred thickness and brand)

– Microwave-safe plate

– Microwave-safe lid or paper towels

Instructions:

1. First, choose your favorite type of bacon. Both thick-cut and regular slices work well for microwave cooking. When opting for a healthier option, consider using turkey bacon or center cut bacon.

2. Line a microwave-safe plate with 3-4 layers of paper towels. This helps absorb excess grease as the bacon cooks, making clean-up effortless.

3. Lay your bacon slices on the lined plate in a single layer without overlapping them. If you have limited space on your plate, it’s better to cook fewer slices at a time.

4. Cover the bacon with another paper towel or use a microwave-safe lid specifically designed for cooking bacon to avoid splatters.

5. Set your microwave at full power and start cooking the bacon. The average cooking time for regular cut bacon is about 1 minute per slice. For thick-cut bacon, add an additional 30 seconds.

6. Carefully remove your plate from the microwave using oven mitts as it will be hot. Check your bacon’s crispiness by lifting an edge of each slice with a fork – if it’s not crispy enough to your liking, return it to the microwave and cook in 30-second intervals.

7. Once you’ve achieved your desired crispiness level, transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with fresh paper towels to soak up any remaining grease.

8. Allow the bacon to cool slightly before enjoying as part of your meal.

Tips and Tricks:

– For even cooking, arrange the bacon slices in a circular pattern on the plate.

– Try cooking two plates of bacon at once by stacking them in the microwave – separate the plates with an inverted microwave-safe plate or use a bacon tray with a rack.

– Keep an eye on your microwave while cooking bacon as microwaves vary in power and time settings; adjust accordingly.

Conclusion:

Achieving perfectly cooked microwave bacon is quick and easy with these simple steps. Give this convenient method a try and savor the same great taste without any extra hassle. So next time you’re craving some delicious, crispy bacon, reach for your microwave, and be ready to indulge in minutes.
