When it comes to managing PDF documents, some users might prefer a dedicated PDF editor instead of relying on a browser or desktop app to read and annotate files. Fortunately, there are several excellent PDF editors for Linux that can help you edit or annotate PDF documents with ease.

  1. LibreOffice Draw:

LibreOffice Draw is a part of the LibreOffice office suite, and it is a free and open-source PDF editor available for Linux and other platforms. This PDF editing software allows you to create, edit, and modify PDF files with ease, and it also supports a wide range of formats, including DWG, DXF, EPS, and others. It comes with a set of powerful drawing tools and features, including text and object manipulation, and supports multiple-page documents.

  1. Okular:

Okular is a popular PDF reader for Linux, but it also doubles as a powerful PDF editor. It is a free and open-source software that is lightweight and easy to use and supports a wide range of document formats, including PDF, EPUB, CBR, and others. With Okular, you can add comments, annotations, and highlights to your PDF documents, along with other editing tools like text selection, copy and paste, and more.

  1. Master PDF Editor:

Master PDF Editor is a professional-grade PDF editor for Linux, and it comes with a wealth of features and tools for PDF editing. It is a paid software, but it offers a free trial period for users to test its capabilities. You can use it to add text, images, and other multimedia content to PDF documents, along with annotations, comments, and forms. It also includes advanced editing tools like the ability to extract, delete, and rotate pages, and more.

  1. Scribus:

Scribus is a free and open-source desktop publishing software that can also act as a PDF editor. It is primarily used for creating brochures, newsletters, and other print materials, but it also comes with robust PDF editing capabilities. You can use it to create and edit PDF documents, add text and images, and perform other editing tasks like cropping, resizing, and more.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
