Best Free Microsoft Office Alternatives for Mac

Microsoft Office is an industry standard when it comes to productivity suites for computers. However, not everyone can afford it or wants to pay for it. Mac users have a lot of great alternatives that are both free and have similar functions and features. Here are some of the best free Microsoft Office alternatives for Mac.

1. Google Docs

Google Docs is an online word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation program that is completely free to use. All the documents are saved in Google Drive, and you can access your files from any device. Google Docs is easy to use and has a clean interface. It’s also fully compatible with Microsoft Office, so you can open and save Office files without any issues.

2. LibreOffice

LibreOffice is a free and open-source productivity suite that includes a word processor, a spreadsheet program, and a presentation program. It has a similar feel to Microsoft Office, and supports all the major file formats, including Microsoft Office files. LibreOffice is highly customizable, and has numerous additional features and add-ons that are readily available.

3. WPS Office

WPS Office is another popular free alternative to Microsoft Office for Mac users. It has a similar interface to Microsoft Office and is highly compatible with Office file formats. WPS Office includes a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation program along with cloud storage for your documents.

4. OpenOffice

OpenOffice is a widely used open-source productivity suite that is free to use. It includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation program, and a database program. OpenOffice is highly customizable and has a large community of users who create tutorials and share extensions and templates.

5. Apple iWork

Apple iWork is a free suite of productivity tools specifically designed for Mac users. It includes Pages for word processing, Numbers for spreadsheets, and Keynote for presentations. iWork is fully compatible with Microsoft Office, and offers cloud storage for your documents via iCloud.
