Introduction:

Dr. Pepper Meatballs have been a favorite for many years, as they provide a unique and delicious twist on the traditional meatball recipe. The combination of sweet and savoryflavors makes it an irresistible dish, perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or just a cozy meal at home. In this article, we’ll introduce you to the best Dr. Pepper Meatball recipe and show you how to make them from scratch.

Ingredients:

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

– 1 egg

– 1 garlic clove, minced

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 small onion, diced

– 3/4 cup ketchup

– 3/4 cup Dr. Pepper

– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the meatballs.

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are incorporated. Form the mixture into approximately one inch sized meatballs.

Step 2: Brown the meatballs.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meatballs and cook until brown on all sides, about five minutes per side. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Step 3: Prepare the sauce.

In the same skillet used for browning the meatballs (do not clean it), add more oil if needed and sauté the diced onions until soft and translucent over medium heat for around three minutes. Add ketchup, Dr. Pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet and mix until well combined. Let the mixture simmer for about five minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.

Step 4: Simmer the meatballs.

Return the browned meatballs to the skillet with the sauce, gently stirring them to coat in the Dr. Pepper sauce. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

Step 5: Serve and enjoy.

Serve your delicious Dr. Pepper Meatballs over a bed of rice or with a side of mashed potatoes to fully appreciate their unique flavor. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired.

Conclusion:

The sweet and tangy Dr. Pepper Meatballs make for a delightful dish that everyone will enjoy. The recipe is simple yet tasty, representing comfort food at its best. Give it a try and impress your friends and family with this unique culinary creation!
