Spread the love

As literature enthusiasts, we often find ourselves seeking recommendations for new books to read. While word of mouth from friends and family is valuable, book review sites and book rating sites can also offer insights and opinions from a vast community of readers.

Here are some of the best book review sites and book rating sites to explore:

Goodreads:

Launched in 2007, Goodreads is arguably one of the most popular and comprehensive book review and rating sites today. It has over 90 million registered users, and users can rate and review books, join reading challenges, participate in discussion groups, and connect with fellow book lovers. The site also offers personalized book recommendations based on your reading history.

BookPage:

BookPage is an online and print book review publication that offers trustworthy and well-written reviews of the latest books across various genres. With a team of professional book reviewers, the site provides in-depth analysis of plot, writing style, and overall book quality. BookPage also has author interviews, book club recommendations, and a monthly newsletter.

Book Riot:

Book Riot is a site that aims to promote diverse voices and underrepresented genres within the book industry. It features book reviews, book news, and opinion pieces from a team of contributors across the globe. The site also has a podcast, a YouTube channel, and an online bookstore.

Amazon and Barnes & Noble:

Besides being online retailers, Amazon and Barnes & Noble also offer user-generated book reviews and ratings. These sites have millions of reviews, making it easier for readers to decide which books to buy. Users can leave a rating out of five stars, and write a detailed review on the plot, characters, writing style, and other aspects of the book.

BookLikes:

BookLikes is a social networking and book review site where users can create their book blog, review books, and connect with other readers. It also has a built-in book search engine where users can find books based on the genre, author, or keyword. BookLikes encourages discussions, book giveaways, and making personal connections with fellow readers.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
