WinDirStat is an incredibly useful tool for Windows users that provides a visual representation of how much space is being used on each folder on your hard drive. However, sometimes users may find themselves looking for alternatives due to various reasons such as pricing, compatibility issues or system requirement issues. Here are some of the best alternatives to WinDirStat that you can consider using.

  1. TreeSize

TreeSize is a free disk space management tool that allows you to visualize the disk space usage of each folder and file. This tool is easy to use and provides an interactive tree map view, which makes it easy to understand how your disk space is being used. It also includes a duplicate file finder, and a feature to export the data to a spreadsheet program.

  1. SpaceSniffer

SpaceSniffer is another well-designed and easy-to-use disk space analyzer that allows you to visualize the contents of your hard drive in a graphical way. The tool is free, but user donations keep it going. With SpaceSniffer, you can quickly see the largest files and folders on your system, and the handy filtering feature makes it easy to find files by type, size, or name.

  1. JDiskReport

JDiskReport is a free tool that provides an interactive pie chart view of the file system tree, allowing you to see how much space is being used by different file types. This tool provides a detailed report on disk usage, including information on directories, files and file types. JDiskReport also has a scanning feature that shows a summary of the space used for different file types.

  1. WizTree

WizTree is a free tool that can help you reclaim valuable disk space by identifying which files and folders are consuming the most space. This tool provides an interactive tree map view like WinDirStat, but with the added bonus of being significantly faster. Additionally, WizTree has the ability to identify and delete duplicate files.

  1. Disk Savvy

Disk Savvy is a free disk space analyzer that allows you to visualize your disk space usage across multiple drives or network locations. This tool provides an interactive pie chart view and can monitor your disk space usage in real-time. Additionally, Disk Savvy has a feature that allows you to create custom reports and export them to CSV, HTML, or TXT format.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
