Attention Sneakerheads: This Is the Best Way to Clean Your Air Force Ones

If you’re a sneaker enthusiast, you know the importance of keeping your kicks looking fresh. The iconic Air Force Ones are no exception, and proper care is crucial to maintain their classic appeal. Herein lies the ultimate guide to cleaning your beloved Air Force Ones, ensuring they stay in pristine condition.

Start by removing loose dirt by gently tapping your shoes together. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to brush away any remaining dirt on the surface. Remember, gentle strokes are key to avoid damaging the leather.

Create a cleaning mixture with warm water and a small amount of mild laundry detergent or sneaker cleaner. Dip a soft cloth or a brush into the solution and carefully clean the shoes in circular motions – focus on one section at a time for thoroughness.

Important tip: Do not soak your Air Force Ones as this can damage the material. Instead, use a damp cloth to wipe off excess cleaner after scrubbing.

For tougher stains on the white rubber soles, use an eraser or a magic eraser gently until the stain lifts. Beware of applying too much pressure which might wear down the rubber.

Next up, tackling the laces. Remove them from your sneakers and soak them in your cleaning solution. If heavily soiled, they may benefit from a gentle hand wash or being run through a washing machine inside a laundry bag for protection.

Air drying is vital. Never use direct heat or sunlight to dry your AF1s as it can warp the shape and discolor the material. Instead, let them air dry naturally in an open space with good airflow.

Lastly, consider applying sneaker protector spray once your Air Force Ones are dry. This step creates an invisible barrier that repels dirt and stains from your next adventure.

Investing time into cleaning and maintaining your Air Force Ones can significantly extend their life and performance, securing their spot as timeless staples in your wardrobe. Now lace up those fresh, immaculate sneakers and step out with confidence!

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
