Android touchscreen not working can be a frustrating issue for anyone. Whether you use your smartphone daily for work or personal use, a non-responsive touchscreen can make life difficult. However, there’s no need to worry too much because there are fixes to the issue. This article will provide you with some tips, fixes, and workarounds to resolve an Android touchscreen not working.

Check for Physical Damage

The first step to fix an unresponsive touchscreen on your Android device is to check for physical damage. Look for cracks or damage to the screen. Even minor cracks or scratches can cause touchscreen malfunction. In this case, you will need to replace the screen or the device entirely.

Clean the Screen

Another simple solution to fix the touchscreen is to clean the screen. Touchscreens can quickly gather dirt, sweat, or oil from your hands, making them unresponsive or erratic. Therefore, make sure to clean your screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt or smudges.

Restart Your Android Device

Restarting your Android device will sometimes resolve issues that make the touchscreen unresponsive. Press and hold the power button for several seconds until the device powers off. Wait for a few seconds and press the power button again to turn it back on.

Remove the Screen Protector

If you have a screen protector on your Android device, remove it to see if this resolves the problem. Sometimes, the screen protector can cause the device’s touchscreen to malfunction or become unresponsive.

Calibrate the Screen

Another way to fix the touchscreen issue is to calibrate it. This will reset the screen to its default sensitivity settings. To calibrate your Android screen, open the phone’s “Settings” app, navigate to “System,” then select “Advanced,” and then click “Developer Options.” Scroll down to “Input,” then select “Pointer Location.” You’ll see a crosshair in the center of the screen. Touch the crosshair and move your finger around the edges of the screen. This calibration process should help to fix unresponsive touchscreens.

Update Android

If none of the above solutions work, try updating your Android device. Manufacturers provide updates that can resolve issues like a non-responsive touchscreen. To check for the latest software update, go to “Settings,” then scroll down to “System,” and select “Update.”

Factory Reset

If none of the above solutions work, your last resort is to reset your Android device to its factory settings. However, keep in mind that this will erase all data on your device. Go to “Settings,” then scroll down to “System,” and select “Reset Options.” From there, select “Erase All Data (Factory Reset).”
