As a gamer, your Steam profile is an important part of your online presence. It showcases your gaming history, preferences, and achievements. However, having a generic URL for your profile can be forgettable and difficult to share with friends. Fortunately, Steam allows you to have a custom URL that is easy to remember and share. Here’s how to set up a custom URL in your Steam profile:

Step 1: Go to your Steam profile

Start by opening your Steam client and clicking on your profile picture at the top right corner of the window. This will take you to your profile page.

Step 2: Access your profile settings

At the bottom right corner of your profile page, you’ll see several links. Click on the “Edit Profile” button to access your profile settings.

Step 3: Choose a custom URL

In your profile settings, scroll down to the bottom until you see the “Profile URL” section. Click on the “Edit” button next to it.

In the dialog box that appears, you will see two options. The first option is to choose a custom URL, and the other one is to create a random URL. Choose the first option, and enter the desired custom URL in the box provided.

Step 4: Check availability

Once you’ve entered the custom URL, click on the “Check availability” button to see if the URL is available. If it’s not available, you’ll need to choose another custom URL.

Step 5: Save changes

If your custom URL is available, click on the “Save” button to apply the changes to your profile. Your profile URL will now be updated with your custom URL.

Tips for choosing a custom URL:

– Keep it short and memorable: Choose a URL that is easy to remember and share with friends.

– Avoid special characters and spaces: Your custom URL should only contain letters and numbers.

– Make it unique: Choose a custom URL that reflects your gaming identity and sets you apart from others.

In conclusion, setting up a custom URL for your Steam profile is a simple process that can enhance your online presence as a gamer. By following the steps above, you’ll be able to create a custom URL that is easy to remember and share with your friends. Happy gaming!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
