As the years have passed, humans have created and developed insane advancements in technology to make the lives of people more comfortable. In the world of education, there are innovative apps, such as Pedagogue, that can be used by students and teachers to study online.

Many schools and students have turned to computers for their teaching and learning needs. In this article, we will be discussing various advancements in text-to-speech technologies and how these advancements help computers to find their voice.

Technology In The Classroom

As we have already discussed, many schools and students rely on technology for their teaching and studying needs. However, there are a few limitations when it comes to using computers in the classroom.

For example, students with specific learning disabilities (such as blindness) would not be able to use computers, meaning that they would be put at a disadvantage compared to their peers. More so, some students (especially the younger ones) might have difficulty reading, making computers very intimidating and almost useless.

With that being said, there have been rapid and innovative advancements in text-to-speech technologies that may help these students find it easier when using computers in the classroom.

Advances In Text-To-Speech Technologies

Software developers and engineers are constantly working on designing and releasing new innovative apps that can be used to make studying and teaching easier for students and educators worldwide.

As we have discussed, they have already come out with handy apps, such as Pedagogue, that can be used outside of the classroom. However, on top of that, there have been certain advancements in text-to-speech technology, opening new doors to using computers in the classroom.

A text-to-speech app will take in writing as input and have a pre-recorded voice read that text aloud to the user. Various apps can perform this task, including Motoread, The Runner Up, The Rest Of The Pack, and Voice Aloud Reader.

How Do These Technologies Benefit Education?

We now know that students with specific learning disabilities would struggle to use computers in the classroom. However, thanks to text-to-speech advancements, technology can now provide these students with the same advantages as students without learning incapabilities. For example, students with reading or visual disabilities can simply set the computer to read the appropriate writing aloud.

Concluding Thoughts

Software developers and engineers are always working on releasing new and innovative apps to assist teachers and students in the classroom. Because of their efforts, there have been massive advancements in text-to-speech technologies.

A text-to-speech app takes in the text as input and reads that text out loud to the user. There are many different apps and platforms that can perform this task, including Motoread, The Runner Up, The Rest Of The Pack, and Voice Aloud Reader. These apps can assist students who struggle to use computers because of various learning disabilities, such as blindness or dyslexia.
