In today’s digital age, we’re always connected to our smartphones. Whether it’s messaging, social media, or business communication, we’re always on our phones. But sometimes it’s more convenient to have our phone’s screen on a larger screen, like our PC or Mac. By mirroring your Android screen to your computer, you can do just that. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of doing this, without the need to root your phone.

  1. Use Screen Mirroring Apps:

Several screen mirroring apps allow you to mirror your Android screen to your PC or Mac. Some of the popular apps are ApowerMirror, Scrcpy, and Vysor.

  • ApowerMirror offers a user-friendly interface and allows you to control your device through your PC or Mac. You can use the app both wirelessly and with USB connections.
  • Scrcpy is a free open-source project that offers low latency and high-quality mirroring, without any shenanigans. The app allows you to control your device through your keyboard and mouse.
  • Vysor is another popular choice when it comes to screen mirroring. The app offers a free version, but the premium version provides more features, such as high-quality video and wireless connectivity.

To get started with these apps, you’ll need to download and install them on your PC or Mac, as well as your Android device. You’ll also need to enable USB debugging on your Android device if you haven’t already. To do this, go to your device’s settings, tap on “About phone” or “About device,” find “Build number” and tap it seven times. This will unlock Developer options. From there, go to Developer options and turn on USB debugging.

  1. Use Chrome Remote Desktop:

Google offers Chrome Remote Desktop for Android users who want to mirror their phone to their PC or Mac. The app is easy to use and requires both devices to be connected to the internet. Here’s how to use it:

  • Download and install the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your Android device and your PC or Mac.
  • Open Chrome on your PC or Mac and navigate to the Chrome Remote Desktop website.
  • Click on “Get Started” and follow the prompts to download and install the Chrome Remote Desktop extension.
  • Launch the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your Android device and grant the necessary permissions.
  • Tap on the computer you want to connect to and enter the access code displayed on your PC or Mac screen.
  1. Use Mirroring360:

Mirroring360 is another app that allows you to mirror your Android screen to your PC or Mac. It offers a free trial, but you’ll have to pay for the full version to use it long term. The app uses Wi-Fi connections to stream your Android device’s screen to your PC or Mac.

  • Download and install Mirroring360 on both your Android device and PC or Mac.
  • Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network
  • Launch the app on both devices and select “Computer / Tablet” on your Android device.
  • Tap on “Start Mirroring” to begin streaming your Android screen to your PC or Mac.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
