How to Use Android 12 in One-Handed Mode

Android 12 has introduced a new feature that allows users to operate their phones with one hand more easily. This feature is called “One-Handed Mode” and it can be accessed through a simple gesture. In this article, we will guide you through the steps required to enable and use One-Handed Mode on your Android 12 device.

Enabling One-Handed Mode

To use One-Handed Mode, you first need to enable it on your Android 12 device. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Open the “Settings” app on your device.

2. Scroll down and select the “System” option.

3. Tap on “Gestures”.

4. Scroll down and select “One-Handed Mode”.

5. Toggle the switch to turn on the feature.

Using One-Handed Mode

Once you have enabled One-Handed Mode on your device, you can activate it using a simple gesture. Here’s how:

1. Swipe down on the bottom of the screen to access the notification shade.

2. Swipe down again to access the Quick Settings panel.

3. Swipe left or right on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

4. The screen will shift to the left or right side of the device, making it easier to access with one hand.

To exit One-Handed Mode, simply tap on the black bar at the bottom of the screen. This will bring the screen back to its original position.

Customizing One-Handed Mode

Android 12 allows you to customize One-Handed Mode to suit your preferences. Here are some of the options you can change:

Size of the screen: You can adjust the size of the screen to make it smaller or larger, depending on your preference.

Timeout: You can set a timeout for One-Handed Mode, which will automatically exit the mode after a certain amount of time.

Activation area: You can adjust the area of the screen where you need to swipe to activate One-Handed Mode.

To customize One-Handed Mode, follow these steps:

1. Open the “Settings” app on your device.

2. Scroll down and select the “System” option.
