What is the Web Design Standard Page Size?

Web design is the process of creating and designing websites. A crucial part of web design is deciding on the page size. In this article, we will talk about what the web design standard page size is all about.

Firstly, you need to remember that the screen sizes of devices that people use to access the internet are not the same. For example, a desktop computer has a larger screen than a smartphone, and so websites viewed on the former will appear much larger. As such, website designers have to ensure that web pages are designed considering the devices most visitors will use.

There are no exact web page design standards for screen size, but designers have to ensure that a web page can fit perfectly on most devices. Smaller screens such as those of smartphones and tablets require a smaller design while large screens like desktop computers require larger designs.

The standard web design for desktop computers is usually 960 pixels in width. This number is used because it allows a web page to fit perfectly on most computer screens without forcing visitors to scroll sideways to view elements of the page that are off-screen.

For mobile devices, the website design standard page size is much smaller. The recommended size for a mobile website is usually 320 pixels. This page size ensures that everything on the webpage can fit perfectly on the screen of the mobile device without cutting off important details.

Another important aspect to consider when designing web pages are the margins. Margins are the areas between the webpage content and both sides of the browser window. The usual margin width for desktop browsers is 10 – 20 pixels, while for mobile devices it is normally not too wide due to the limited space on the device screen.
