Introduction:

M&M cookie bars are a colorful treat that will delight both kids and adults. With their soft, chewy texture and the perfect balance of chocolate and sweetness, M&M cookie bars are a favorite in many households. This easy recipe will have you whipping up the best M&M cookie bars in no time. Let’s dive into how to make them!

Ingredients:

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 cup packed brown sugar

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1 large egg, plus an additional egg yolk

– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

– 1 cup mini M&Ms, plus extra for topping

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving an overhang on both sides for easy removal.

2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

3. In a separate large bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined. Add in the egg, additional egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.

4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients while mixing until just combined—make sure not to over mix.

5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini M&Ms with a spatula.

6. Transfer the dough to your prepared baking pan and press it down evenly using your hands or a spatula. Sprinkle a few extra mini M&Ms on top for added color.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for 22-27 minutes, or until the edges are set and start to turn golden brown. The center may seem undercooked, but it will continue to cook as it cools.

8. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan before using the parchment paper or aluminum foil overhang to lift the cookie bars out of the pan.

9. Once completely cooled, cut your M&M cookie bars into squares and enjoy!

Conclusion:

This best M&M cookie bars recipe creates a delicious dessert that is both easy to make and a hit at any gathering. The combination of sweet chocolate chips and colorful mini M&Ms adds an element of fun to your traditional cookie recipes. Make these M&M cookie bars for your next party, potluck, or as an everyday treat for your family!
