Introduction: Sometimes, it is necessary to silence our iPhone’s ringer to ensure that we don’t disturb others during meetings, events or late at night. However, turning the volume back on can be a challenge for those who don’t know the tricks. In this article, we’ll show you 8 simple ways to unsilence calls on your iPhone and restore audible notifications.

1.Flick the side switch:

The quickest way to enable sound for incoming calls is by using the side switch on your iPhone. This switch is located above the volume buttons on the left side of the device. If the switch is set towards the back of your iPhone (with a red line visible), this means your phone is silenced. To unsilence calls, flick the side switch towards the front of your device.

2.Turn up the volume:

You can also unsilence calls by increasing the volume on your iPhone. To do this, use the volume buttons located beneath the side switch on the left side of your device. Pressing the top button will increase the volume, while pressing the bottom button will decrease it.

3.Ringer and Alerts settings:

Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics (for newer models) or Settings > Sounds (for older models) and check that ‘Change with Buttons’ option is switched on under Ringer and Alerts section. Additionally, you can drag the Ringer and Alerts slider all the way to right for maximum volume.

4.Check Do Not Disturb mode:

If your iPhone’s Do Not Disturb mode is enabled, you won’t receive any notifications, including incoming call alerts. To disable this mode, go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and toggle off ‘Manual’ or ‘Scheduled.’

5.Restart your iPhone:

If you’ve tried all of these methods but still find that your iPhone isn’t playing sound for incoming calls, try restarting your device. To do this, hold down the side button and either volume button together until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ screen appears. Slide to power off, then turn on your iPhone after a few seconds.

6.Update iOS software:

It’s also possible that an outdated iOS version may be causing the issue. To update your iPhone’s software, go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.

7.Enter recovery mode:

If the above methods don’t work, try putting your iPhone in recovery mode and restoring it using iTunes. This process will erase all your data and settings, so make sure you have a backup before proceeding.

8.Reach out to Apple Support:

If none of these steps resolve the problem, it’s best to seek help from Apple Support or take your device to an authorized Apple service provider for further assistance.

Conclusion: Unsilencing calls on iPhone is easy once you know what steps need to be taken. From flicking the side switch to checking the Do Not Disturb mode or updating your iOS, these 8 simple ways can help you restore audible sound for incoming calls on your iPhone in no time.
