360-Degree Feedback: Multi-Source Evaluation

Multi-source evaluation (MSE) has become an increasingly common method for gauging the effectiveness of programs and interventions. MSE is based on the premise that different stakeholders – such as program participants, program staff, and community members – can provide valid and reliable information about the program’s impact.
There are many benefits to using MSE in program evaluation. First, it allows for a more holistic view of the program’s impact. Second, it allows for a more accurate assessment of program success. Third, MSE can help identify any program gaps or areas that need further improvement.
There are, however, several considerations that must be taken into account when using MSE. First, MSE is time-consuming and requires a high level of cooperation from program participants, staff, and community members. Second, MSE can be difficult to implement if the program is complex or has a large impact. Third, MSE can be biased if the evaluators are from the same group as the program they are evaluating.
Despite these challenges, MSE is an important tool for program evaluation. It can help identify areas of success and failure, and can provide a more accurate picture of the program’s impact.
