Introduction: Sometimes, reinstalling Windows can be the key to fixing numerous issues with your computer. This article will guide you through three methods to reinstall Windows, ensuring you have a fresh start for your device.

1. Reset This PC Method

– Go to Start, then Settings, and select Update & Security.

– Choose Recovery.

– In the Reset this PC section, click “Get started.”

– You’ll receive two options: Keep my files or Remove everything. Choose according to your preference.

– Follow the instructions given by Windows to complete the reset process. Your computer will restart several times during the process.

2. Clean Install Using an Installation Media

– Create a bootable USB flash drive or burn a DVD with the Windows installation media.

– Plug in the USB flash drive or insert the DVD into your computer.

– Restart your computer, pressing F12 (or another dedicated key) to enter the boot menu.

– Select the option to boot from USB/CD or DVD.

– Choose your language and other preferences, clicking “Next” after each selection.

– Click “Install now” and enter your product key if asked.

– Accept the license terms and click “Next” again.

– Choose “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).”

– Select the drive where you’d like to install Windows and click “Next.” Then follow any additional prompts.

3. Reinstall Using Windows System Image Restore

– Ensure you have a system image backup ready before starting this process.

– Create a bootable USB drive with Windows installation media.

– Boot from this USB using the process mentioned earlier.

– At the initial setup screen, choose “Repair your computer.”

– Select Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, and finally System Image Recovery.

– Choose your System Image Backup and follow any further instructions provided.

Conclusion: There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to reinstalling Windows. Consider the options listed above and choose the method that works best for you and your situation. No matter which method you opt for, be sure to back up your important files before starting the process.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
