10 Best Batman Comic Events Featuring Gotham City, Ranked

1.No Man’s Land (1999) – In this epic event, Gotham City becomes completely isolated from the rest of the United States following a devastating earthquake. Batman and his allies work to restore order as rival factions fight for control.

2.Knightfall (1993-1994) – This intense storyline features the breaking of the Bat, literally, when Bane destroys Batman physically and mentally. Gotham City descends into chaos as Batman works to reclaim his city and his strength.

3.The Long Halloween (1996-1997) – A year-long mystery unfolds in Gotham as Batman takes on a serial killer targeting mobsters during holidays. The event underscores Gotham’s corruption and the rise of its iconic villains.

4.Dark Victory (1999-2000) – Sequel to The Long Halloween, this series delves deeper into the darkness of Gotham and its criminal underworld, introducing Dick Grayson’s origin as Robin in the process.

5.Batman: Hush (2002-2003) – Batman is faced with a mysterious new villain who seems to know all his secrets. As Batman unravels the mystery, Gotham City’s landscape is teeming with supervillains influenced by the enigmatic Hush.

6.Cataclysm (1998) – Leading directly into No Man’s Land, this multi-part storyline deals with the earthquake that decimates Gotham City, setting up a scenario where every character must fight for survival.

7.War of Jokes and Riddles (2017) – Taking place early in Batman’s career, this arc pits Joker against Riddler in a brutal conflict that engulfs all of Gotham City, showing a war between two of Batman’s greatest foes.

8.Court of Owls Saga (2011-2012) – Introducing the sinister Court of Owls that has manipulated events in Gotham for centuries, this event challenges Batman’s understanding of his city and his own legacy.

9.Zero Year (2013-2014) – A reimagining of Bruce Wayne’s early days as Batman, Zero Year presents a vibrant and dangerous Gotham being terrorized by The Riddler, with a citywide blackout setting the stage for this modern epic.

10.Under the Red Hood (2004-2006) – Featuring the resurrection of Jason Todd as the menacing Red Hood, this event unravels within a troubled Gotham caught between warring factions and vigilante justice.
