As the popularity of streaming services continues to grow, more and more people are looking to cut the cord with their cable companies. However, the cost of subscribing to multiple streaming services can quickly add up. Luckily, YouTube has a plethora of channels that offer free (and legal) shows and movies to watch. Here are some of the channels to check out:

1. The Roku Channel

Roku, a streaming device company, has a free channel on YouTube that offers a rotating selection of movies and TV shows. While some titles may require a rental fee, there are many options that are completely free to watch.

2. Crackle

Crackle is a Sony-owned free streaming service that has a YouTube channel with a variety of movies and TV shows to watch. While the selection may not be as extensive as some other platforms, Crackle regularly adds new titles.

3. Popcornflix

Popcornflix is another free streaming service that has a YouTube channel with a range of movies and TV shows. This channel is unique in that it categorizes its content by genre, making it easy to find something to watch based on your preferences.

4. Shout Factory TV

For those looking for classic TV shows, Shout Factory TV has a YouTube channel that offers retro series like The Twilight Zone, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and The Carol Burnett Show. While this channel may not have the latest releases, it’s perfect for those looking for nostalgic content.

5. FilmRise

FilmRise is another great YouTube channel that offers a mix of classic movies and independent films. With titles like The Terminator and Ghost, as well as documentaries and indie films, there’s something for everyone on this channel.

While these channels offer free content, it’s important to note that they have ads. However, for those looking to save money on streaming services, watching a few ads may be worth it in exchange for free movies and TV shows.

In conclusion, YouTube is a great source for free (and legal) movies and TV shows. From classic TV shows to independent films, there’s a range of content available on various channels. So, next time you’re looking for something to watch, consider checking out one of these free channels on YouTube.
