Your Android Phone or Tablet Won’t Turn On? Ways to Fix

Your Android device is an essential gadget that keeps us connected with friends, family, work, and entertainment. It’s frustrating to find that the device won’t turn on, and you’re unable to access its features. While the problem may seem complicated at first, it’s usually fixable. Here are ways to fix your Android Phone or Tablet that won’t turn on.

1. Charge your device:

The first solution should always be to ensure your device is charged. Connect your device to a power source, and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on again. A depleted battery may be the cause of the issue.

2. Perform a force restart:

If your device doesn’t respond after charging, try a force restart. Press and hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously for at least 20 seconds. Release the buttons when the device vibrates. Wait until it boots to the home screen.

3. Boot your device in Safe Mode:

Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that starts the device with the primary system applications only. It blocks third-party applications and temporarily disables them. This method helps to identify if the issue is caused by third-party applications. Here’s how to boot your device in Safe Mode:

– Press and hold the power button.

– Press and hold the ‘Power Off’ option that usually appears on the screen.

– Tap ‘OK’ when the device prompts you to boot into Safe Mode.

If your device boots successfully in Safe Mode, it indicates that third-party apps are causing the issue.

4. Remove the battery:

For devices with removable batteries, take out the battery, wait for a few seconds, and then reinsert it. This may solve the problem.

5. Boot into Recovery mode:

Recovery mode allows you to perform system maintenance on your device. Here’s how to boot your device in Recovery mode:

– Press and hold the power button and volume up button simultaneously.

– Release the power button when the phone vibrates, but continue to hold the volume up button until the recovery menu appears.

Use the volume buttons to navigate the menu and select ‘Reboot system now.’ This will restart your device, and it should work normally.

6. Factory reset:

Factory reset is a last resort if all other options fail. It erases all data from your device and brings it back to its original state. Here’s how to perform a factory reset:

– Turn off your device.

– Press and hold the power button and volume up button simultaneously.

– Release the power button when the phone vibrates, but continue to hold the volume up button until the recovery menu appears.

– Select ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’

– Confirm the process by selecting ‘Yes-Delete All user data.’

– After the process is complete, select ‘Reboot system now’ to restart your device.
