Your AirPods Aren’t Waterproof, But Here’s What You Can Do

AirPods are undoubtedly one of the most popular wireless earbuds on the market today, thanks to their seamless integration with Apple’s ecosystem and their impressive sound quality. However, one of the downsides of these earbuds is that they are not waterproof, which means they are not designed to be submerged or exposed to water.

This can be a bit of a problem, especially for those who love to use their AirPods while working out or during heavy rain.

But don’t fret just yet! There are still some things that you can do to protect your AirPods from water damage, prolong their lifespan and avoid having to replace them any time soon. Here are some tips that you might find useful:

1. Invest in a protective case: While there’s no way to waterproof your AirPods, there are plenty of cases available that can provide additional protection against water and other elements. These cases come in different designs and are made of different materials, so you can choose one that fits your personal style and preferences.

2. Don’t expose them to water: This might seem obvious, but it’s worth repeating: Don’t submerge your AirPods in water or expose them to excessive moisture. If you’re caught in the rain or sweat heavily during a workout, it’s best to remove your AirPods and keep them safely in their case until they’re dry.

3. Be cautious when cleaning them: Although it’s important to keep your AirPods clean, you should be cautious when cleaning them. Avoid using water or any other liquid to clean them, and don’t use any abrasive materials or chemicals that could damage the earbuds’ surface or the charging case.

4. Consider getting some water-resistant earbuds: If you’re looking for a more durable option, there are plenty of water-resistant and waterproof earbuds available on the market. While they may not have the same seamless integration with Apple devices, they offer reliable protection against water and other elements.
