This initiative has been launched in competition with SpaceX’s Starlink, which is led by Elon Musk. SpaceX has already launched more than 1,000 satellites, with plans to reach 12,000 in the future. Starlink has also been testing its internet service since October 2020, and the company claims that it will reach full global coverage by 2021.

Whether Project Kuiper can outperform Starlink will depend on several factors, including the number of satellites deployed, the quality of the ground-based infrastructure, and the overall cost. Although it’s too early to say, Project Kuiper does have some advantages over Starlink.
