Windows 11 has introduced a new Windows Terminal, an improved and modernized version of the classic Command Prompt. With its more user-friendly interface and advanced features, this new tool is quickly becoming a favorite among power users and developers alike.

However, one of the most important things to know about the Windows Terminal is how to open it, especially for those who are new to the Windows 11 operating system. To help you get started, here are some ways to open the Windows Terminal in Windows 11:

1. Using the Start menu

The easiest way to open the Windows Terminal is to use the Start menu. To do this, just click on the Start button, and then type “Terminal” into the search box. Once you see the Windows Terminal app appear in the search results, just click on it to open it.

2. Using the Run dialog box

Another way to open the Windows Terminal is to use the Run dialog box. To do this, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box, and then type “wt” (without the quotes) into the text box. Once you’ve typed in the command, press Enter, and the Windows Terminal will launch.

3. Using the Command Prompt

For those who prefer the classic Command Prompt interface, you can also open the Windows Terminal from there. To do this, open the Command Prompt by pressing the Windows key + X and then selecting “Command Prompt” from the menu. Once the Command Prompt is open, simply type “wt” (without the quotes) and then press Enter. This will launch the Windows Terminal app.

4. Using the Power User menu

For power users who want quick access to the Windows Terminal, you can also add it to the Power User menu. To do this, right-click on the Start button and select “Windows Terminal” from the menu. This will add the app to the Power User menu, making it easier to access it in the future.

In conclusion, these are the most commonly used methods for opening the Windows Terminal app in Windows 11. Whichever method you choose, the Windows Terminal is a powerful tool that can help you streamline your work and increase your productivity. Whether you’re a developer, a sysadmin, or just an avid user, the Windows Terminal is definitely worth exploring.
