Flipping photos is an easy and convenient way to enhance your pictures on macOS. There are several ways to flip photos on your Mac, whether you need to flip an image horizontally or vertically. In this article, we’ll go over some of the most straightforward methods to flip photos on macOS.

Method 1: Using Preview

The Preview app on macOS is a versatile tool that can be used to view, edit, and annotate images. Here’s how you can flip a photo using Preview:

1. Open the image you want to flip with Preview by double-clicking on it.

2. Click on the “Tools” menu from the top menu bar and choose “Flip Horizontal” or “Flip Vertical,” depending on which way you want to flip the image.

3. Once you’ve flipped the photo, click “File” from the top menu bar and choose “Save” to save your changes.

Method 2: Using the Photos App

The Photos app on macOS comes preinstalled and is a great way to manage your photo library. Here’s how you can flip a photo using the Photos app:

1. Open the Photos app and select the image you want to flip.

2. Click on the “Edit” button in the top right corner of the window.

3. Next, click on the “Crop” button and select “Flip Horizontal” or “Flip Vertical” from the drop-down menu, depending on which way you want to flip the image.

4. Once you’ve flipped the photo, click on the “Done” button to save your changes.

Method 3: Using a Third-Party App

There are several third-party apps available on the Mac App Store that allow you to flip photos quickly and easily. Here are some of the popular options:

1. GIMP – GIMP is a free, open-source image editing software that provides advanced features for editing photos.

2. Pixelmator – Pixelmator is a powerful image editing app that provides several tools for editing and enhancing images.

3. Adobe Photoshop Elements – Adobe Photoshop Elements is a more affordable version of Photoshop that offers several editing tools for photos.
