Ways to Fix “Hey Siri” Not Working on Your iPhone
Hey Siri is a great feature on the iPhone. It enables you to control your device with voice commands, making it easier to send messages, place phone calls, and search the internet. However, it can be frustrating when Hey Siri malfunctions on your phone. Fortunately, there are various ways to fix the problem.
1. Check Your Settings
The first thing to do when Hey Siri isn’t working is to check your settings. Ensure that Hey Siri is enabled in your iPhone’s settings. To do this, go to Settings, Siri & Search, then toggle on Hey Siri. If it is already enabled, try disabling it and then turning it back on. This simple step may be enough to get Hey Siri working again.
2. Restart Your iPhone
If Hey Siri isn’t working, restarting your iPhone may help. Hold down the Power and Volume Down buttons until the Apple logo appears. Once your iPhone restarts, try using Hey Siri again. Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve issues relating to Hey Siri.
3. Check for Software Updates
You should also check if your iPhone software is up to date. Go to Settings, General, then Software Update. If there’s an update available, download and install it. Updating your iPhone software can fix bugs and glitches that cause Hey Siri to malfunction.
4. Reset Hey Siri
If Hey Siri is still not working after restarting and checking settings, try resetting it. Go to Settings, Siri & Search, then toggle off Hey Siri. Wait a few seconds, then toggle it back on. This resets Hey Siri, and it may start working again.
5. Check Your Microphone
If Hey Siri still doesn’t work, there may be an issue with your iPhone’s microphone. Test your microphone by using the Voice Memos app. If you can record audio, your microphone is working fine. If you can’t record audio, take your iPhone to an authorized repair center. They will diagnose and fix any hardware issues that may be affecting your microphone.
6. Disable Low Power Mode
Low Power Mode can affect Hey Siri’s performance. When your iPhone battery is low, Low Power Mode kicks in and reduces the performance of some features. If Hey Siri is not working and Low Power Mode is enabled, turning it off may restore Hey Siri’s functionality.
