Utilizing Environmental Advantages Against Ronins

In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, the environment can be your greatest ally when facing off against Ronins. The diverse landscape of the island offers numerous opportunities to gain tactical advantages. This article will explore how to effectively use the environment to outmaneuver and defeat these skilled warriors.

Water bodies are one of the most effective environmental features to use against Ronins. Their close-combat focus becomes a disadvantage in aquatic settings. When near lakes, rivers, or coastal areas, lure Ronins into the water. Their movement speed is reduced, and they can’t use their dash ability effectively, making them easy targets for your ranged weapons. Additionally, building in water is more challenging, further limiting their options.

High ground is crucial in any Fortnite battle, but it’s particularly effective against Ronins. Utilize natural elevations like hills, mountains, or even tall buildings in urban areas. From these vantage points, you can spot Ronins from afar and engage them before they can close the distance. If a Ronin tries to ascend to your position, they’re forced to expose themselves, giving you clear shots.

Dense forests can be both an advantage and a challenge when facing Ronins. On one hand, trees provide cover and can block their dash attacks. On the other, the limited visibility can allow Ronins to sneak up on you. Use this environment by constantly moving between trees, taking quick shots, and repositioning. This guerrilla-style warfare can frustrate Ronins and force them into mistakes.

Urban environments with multiple buildings offer unique opportunities. Ronins excel in close-quarters combat, so avoid getting trapped in small rooms. Instead, use the urban landscape to create distance. Move between buildings, use windows for unexpected angles, and utilize rooftops for height advantage. The numerous lines of sight in urban areas can overwhelm a Ronin trying to close in on you.

Open fields might seem disadvantageous, but they can be turned to your favor. In wide-open spaces, Ronins lose the element of surprise. Use this to keep them at bay with long-range weapons. If they attempt to close the distance, their approach will be obvious, allowing you to prepare accordingly. Consider carrying mobility items like Shockwave Grenades to quickly create distance if they get too close.

Pay attention to destructible environments. Ronins often rely on building for protection when their abilities are on cooldown. Use this to your advantage by destroying their structures. Firefly Jars, Grenades, or even a well-placed shot at the base of their build can bring it crumbling down, leaving them exposed.
