Trump’s Second Term: What to Expect in Domestic Policy

As Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, speculation is rife about what his second term might entail for domestic policy. Based on his campaign promises and recent statements, several key areas are likely to see significant changes.

Immigration is expected to be a top priority, with Trump vowing to reinstate and expand policies like the “Remain in Mexico” program and travel bans from certain countries. He has also promised to complete the border wall and increase deportations of undocumented immigrants.

On the economic front, Trump has pledged to implement further tax cuts, arguing that they will stimulate economic growth. He has also indicated a desire to roll back regulations on businesses, particularly in the energy sector, to boost domestic production.

Healthcare is another area likely to see major changes. Trump has promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and replace it with a new system, though details remain vague. He has also suggested plans to lower prescription drug prices through negotiations with pharmaceutical companies.

Education policy may see a shift towards increased school choice and voucher programs, with Trump advocating for redirecting federal funds to support these initiatives.

As these policies begin to take shape, they are likely to face significant opposition from Democrats and potentially moderate Republicans, setting the stage for intense political battles in the coming years.
