Spread the love

Our editors from various backgrounds and with diverse tastes have all experienced that special moment of receiving a gift that truly resonated with them. After a casual office poll, here are some of the best gifts our editors have ever received, hands down:

1. A Customized Travel Journal: Our travel editor was touched to receive a leather-bound journal inscribed with his name and an embossed quote from his favorite travel book. Not only it was personalized, but it also came with a promise of adventure, making it an unforgettable gift.

2. A Vintage Record Player: For our music editor, a vintage record player was the embodiment of nostalgia and warmth. Accompanied by a selection of classic vinyl records, this gift took center stage in their living room – and in their heart.

3. A Handwritten Family Cookbook: Filled with generational recipes and personal notes, our food editor cherishes this handwritten cookbook she received from her grandmother. It encapsulates family history and love in every dish.

4. A Spa Day Voucher: In the midst of deadlines and meetings, our lifestyle editor received a spa day voucher from her best friend. The thoughtfulness of gifting relaxation and self-care was the ultimate luxury.

5. A First Edition Book: For someone who lives and breathes literature, a first edition copy of their favorite novel can be magical. This is precisely what left our literary editor speechless when her spouse surprised her.

6. High-Quality Chef’s Knife: A shiny new chef’s knife might not seem sentimental, but for our culinary editor who loves to cook, it represented appreciation for her skills and passion for cooking.

7. An Heirloom Watch: Passed down from grandfather to father to son, an heirloom watch given to our executive editor symbolizes continuity and the passage of time wrapped around his wrist.

8. A Star Adoption Certificate: As someone who marvels at the night sky, our science editor was gifted an adoption certificate for a star named after her – an everlasting gift that shines bright even from millions of miles away.

9. Handcrafted Artwork: Our arts editor, who appreciates creativity and craftsmanship more than anything, received a handcrafted piece of art made by a close friend. It hangs in their home as both décor and a reminder of affectionate bonds.

10. A Professional Photography Session: With the birth of her new baby, our family editor received the gift of a professional photography session – giving her family memories that could be beautifully captured and preserved forever.

These gifts stand out not just because they are material items but because they represent understanding, thoughtfulness, and connection from giver to receiver – ingredients that make any present the “best” one could ever receive.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
