The perfect snickerdoodle cookie has a soft, chewy texture with a delightful cinnamon-sugar coating. This classic cookie recipe is simple to make and will quickly become your go-to for bake sales, holidays, and family gatherings. Let’s dive right into the delightful world of snickerdoodles!

Ingredients:

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure all ingredients are fully incorporated.

4. In a separate medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.

6. In a small shallow dish or pie plate, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.

7. Scoop out about two tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball using your hands. Then roll the dough ball in the cinnamon-sugar coating until completely covered.

8. Place coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets at least two inches apart from each other to allow room for spreading.

9. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden and the centers are still soft.

10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy your delicious snickerdoodle cookies with a glass of cold milk or a warm beverage of your choice. Whether you’re enjoying these treats on your own or sharing them with loved ones, these snickerdoodle cookies are guaranteed to become an instant favorite in your recipe collection.
