Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios’ highly anticipated space exploration game, has ignited the imagination of gamers around the world. Among the plethora of features, the game promises an expansive array of spacecraft that players can obtain and pilot through the vast cosmos. While many ships will certainly be available for purchase or as rewards for completing missions, there are also exceptional vessels that dedicated explorers can get their hands on without spending any in-game currency. Here are some of the best ships in Starfield you can get for free:

1. The Nomad – A Jack-of-all-trades, the Nomad is a ship that players receive early on in their journey. It’s an adaptable vessel that can be upgraded and customized as players make their way through the stars. Its all-around performance makes it a reliable choice for those looking to explore multiple aspects of space without specializing too soon.

2. The Surveyor – Gifted to players after completing a series of exploratory missions, the Surveyor boasts specialized scanning equipment ideal for charting unexplored territories and discovering hidden resources. This makes it a go-to ship for aspiring explorers aiming to leave their mark on the map.

3. The Pathfinder – Known for its stealth capabilities, the Pathfinder can be unlocked after successfully navigating a treacherous stealth mission sequence. Perfect for players who prefer a more covert approach to their exploration and missions, this ship allows one to slip past threats undetected.

4. The Sentinel – Earned by defending vulnerable colonies from pirate attacks, the Sentinel is a testament to one’s combat prowess. Designed with reinforced armor and equipped with heavy weaponry, it stands as a formidable ally in battles against space marauders.

5. The Dawnchaser – A reward for completing a challenging rescue operation deep in asteroid fields, this swift and nimble craft is designed to maneuver through tight spots with ease. It’s an exemplary asset when quick responses and sharp turns are necessary to survive the dangers lurking within dense cosmic debris.

6. The Wayfarer – Given as recognition for aiding an interstellar faction in diplomatic endeavors, the Wayfarer features enhanced communication arrays and extended range capabilities. It suits those who focus on brokering peace and fostering alliances across star systems.

7. The Horizon – For those who dedicate themselves to uncovering ancient alien secrets, the Horizon awaits at the end of a long chain of riddles and ruins scattered among forgotten planets. Equipped with advanced decryption tools and archaeological instruments, it is purpose-built for deciphering relics of bygone civilizations.

While Starfield may offer countless other ships that cater to different playstyles and objectives, these free vessels each boast unique capabilities set to enrich different aspects of gameplay without costing any credits. As players traverse this open-world universe, they will have ample opportunity to find these ships and craft their own legends among the stars.
