The Best Scooters Our Kids Rode, Jumped With, Crashed, and Ate Snacks On

Scooters have become a staple in households with kids, providing not just a mode of transport but also endless hours of fun and physical activity. They are versatile, come in various designs, and cater to different age groups. Here is a look at the best scooters that have stood the test of time—and the rigorous treatment by our little ones.

For the littlest riders, three-wheeled scooters offer stability and safety for those first tentative glides. The Mini Micro Scooter is perfect for ages 2-5, with its lean-to-steer design, non-marking wheels for indoor riding, and durable construction that can handle any number of crashes or snack spills.

As kids grow, so does their need for speed and more advanced features. For children aged 5-12, the Razor A3 Kick Scooter is a classic choice. It comes equipped with larger wheels for a smoother ride over rough pavements and a wheelie bar for an adventurous spirit eager to try tricks. Its aluminum frame can withstand rough playing, jumping off curbs, and can easily be folded up for transportation or storage.

For the daredevils eager to do jumps and stunts at the skatepark, stunt scooters like the Fuzion X-5 Pro Scooter are ideal. It’s designed with high-strength steel handlebars, an aluminum deck that’s both lightweight and tough enough to take the impact from drops and hops. The wheels have just the right grip and bounce to cushion landings after each airborne feat.

Finally, for those who enjoy family outings or need a more ecologically friendly way to commute to school, electric scooters are gaining popularity. Models like the Segway Ninebot eKickScooter ZING E10 are perfect for older kids—with adjustable speed settings they can use as they get more comfortable riding.

The right scooter grows with your child’s skills and confidence level. Whether they’re riding around the neighborhood, practicing tricks at the park, crashing into each other in good fun, or simply stopping by their favorite spot to refuel on snacks—these scooters are not just about getting from one place to another; they create fond memories of childhood adventures.
