PayPal is a popular online payment platform that is widely used in many countries. Unfortunately, teenagers under the age of 18 are not allowed to create a PayPal account. However, there are several other reliable payment alternatives for teenagers under 18 that can be used for online transactions. In this article, we’ll explore the best PayPal alternatives for teenagers under 18.

1. Venmo

Venmo is a mobile payment service owned by PayPal that can be used by teenagers under the age of 18. However, they need to have a parent or guardian who has an account and can send and receive payments on their behalf. Once the account is set up, teenagers can easily make payments to friends and family members.

2. Cash App

Cash App is another popular mobile payment service that allows teenagers under 18 to create a personal account. However, they need to have a parent or guardian who can link their bank account and validate their identity. Once the account is set up, teenagers can easily make payments, purchase Bitcoin, and even get a debit card.

3. Western Union

Western Union is a trusted money-transfer service that allows you to send and receive money online or in person. Teenagers under 18 can create an account with Western Union, but they need to have a parent or guardian who can authorize the transaction.

4. Google Wallet

Google Wallet is an online payment platform that enables teenagers to make payments for Google services and purchase apps on the Google Play Store. To set up an account, teenagers under 18 need to have a parent or guardian who can provide their consent.

5. Zelle

Zelle is a mobile payment service that allows teenagers under 18 to create an account with their bank account. They can send and receive payments from friends and family members, but they need to have a parent or guardian who can authorize the transaction.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
