Eggs are a kitchen staple in most households, known for their versatility and essential nutrients. With the rise of kitchen gadgets like the Instant Pot, cooking eggs has never been simpler or more foolproof. Out of the array of techniques, coddled eggs stand out for their delicate texture and creamy consistency—qualities that make them a gourmet treat to enjoy any time of day.

Coddling eggs, historically, involves cooking them gently in a water bath at a low temperature to achieve that perfectly soft-set consistency. The Instant Pot mimics this method with precision and speed, turning out eggs with tender whites and yolks that are just set but still runny—ideal for those who savor the luxurious side of this protein-packed ingredient.

Cooking coddled eggs in the Instant Pot is an almost effortless process. Begin by adding one cup of water to the pot and place the trivet inside. Next, lightly oil several ramekins or small jars suitable for withstanding high pressures. Crack an egg into each container, season with salt and pepper or any other desired spices, and place them on the trivet inside the pot.

Secure the lid and set the valve to ‘Sealing.’ Select the ‘Steam’ function and adjust the temperature to ‘Low.’ Set the timer for 3-4 minutes depending on your preferred consistency. Once cooked, quick release the pressure and carefully remove the containers with tongs or an oven mitt.

These delicately coddled eggs can be served directly in their individual containers or turned out onto toast or a salad. Garnish with fresh herbs or a drizzle of cream to enhance their subtle flavor.

The ease of creating coddled eggs reflects only one aspect of why they are considered one of the best ways to prepare eggs in an Instant Pot. Their refined texture makes for an impressive plating straight from the pot—a testament to how modern technology can meld seamlessly with classical cooking techniques.

In conclusion, for egg aficionados looking for convenience without compromising on luxury, preparing coddled eggs in an Instant Pot is certainly a game-changer. It offers restaurant-quality results in minutes using a simple kitchen gadget that has already revolutionized home cooking in numerous ways.
