The Best Horror Movies on Hulu

Horror enthusiasts looking for a frightful night have an array of chilling options to choose from on Hulu. This article highlights some of the best horror movies available on the streaming platform to send shivers down your spine.

“The Night House” beckons viewers with a blend of psychological terror and supernatural suspense. Rebecca Hall delivers a compelling performance as a widow uncovering dark secrets about her late husband in their lakeside home. The film’s atmospheric tension and shocking twists have earned it critical acclaim.

For those who prefer their horror with a side of social commentary, “Us” from director Jordan Peele is a must-watch. The film presents a terrifying and thought-provoking tale about doppelgängers that emerge from the shadows to confront their above-ground counterparts. Peele’s blend of horror with poignant allegory makes “Us” an engaging and unsettling experience.

Classic horror fans can revel in the nostalgia and terror of “Child’s Play.” The reboot of the iconic 1988 film features Mark Hamill as the voice of the murderous doll Chucky. With modern updates and higher stakes, “Child’s Play” retains its place as a staple in the slasher genre.

A24’s “The Lodge” offers an unrelenting psychological journey focusing on two children and their soon-to-be stepmother trapped in an isolated winter cabin. Alicia Silverstone and Riley Keough star in this slow-burning nightmare that expertly builds suspense to unbearable levels.

For paranormal thrills, “Lights Out” takes a simple yet horrifying concept — fear of the dark — and turns it into an inventive ghost story. Produced by James Wan, this film delves into the story of a malevolent spirit that only appears when the lights go out, providing jump scares galore.

Lastly, Hulu doesn’t shy away from anthology horrors either. “Books of Blood,” based on Clive Barker’s short stories, weaves together three tales of terror into one cohesive narrative exploring forbidden knowledge and otherworldly dimensions.

From psychological scare-fests to bloody slashers, Hulu serves up an impressive selection for horror aficionados. As streaming platforms continue to deliver diverse offerings for every type of viewer, Hulu proves itself as a strong contender in hosting some of the best in shocking entertainment. Whether you’re looking for classic frights or modern macabre tales, these films will surely satisfy your hunger for horror.
