The Best BITW We Spotted from NYC to Miami As the Year Wound Down
As the year drew to a close, travelers and locals alike bore witness to an array of breathtaking “Best in the World” (BITW) moments, from the bustling streets of New York City to the sun-drenched avenues of Miami. This epoch-spanning journey highlighted innovations, artistry, and natural wonders that define why these places are cherished travel destinations.
Starting in New York City, as winter’s chill swept over the metropolis, architects unveiled one of the most sustainable skyscrapers to grace the Manhattan skyline, dubbed ‘The Green Spire’. Clad in energy-efficient materials and boasting a vertical garden that scales its immense height, this building is not only an architectural marvel but also a testament to a greener future within urban landscapes.
Not too far away, at the latest Broadway spectacle, ‘Ethereal’, audiences were left breathless by groundbreaking stage design that used holography and levitating set pieces. This theater production set new standards, taking its place among the best shows ever produced on Broadway.
As we traveled southward into Philadelphia, we encountered a culinary revolution at ‘Amuse Bouche Enclave’, where culinary artists combined 3D printing with molecular gastronomy to create dishes that looked as incredible as they tasted. It’s a restaurant that truly embodied innovation in cuisine by pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on a plate.
Further down in Washington D.C., amidst historic monuments, stood out an exhibition of rare artifacts from lost civilizations at the Smithsonian Museum. These relics had been unearthed from recent archaeological discoveries and included items that were considered myths until now. The exhibition provided an unparalleled connection with humanity’s past.
Upon reaching the Carolinas’ shimmering shorelines, visitors congregated to witness bioluminescent waves—a natural phenomenon caused by populations of glowing plankton. Nights on these beaches turned into ethereal displays of nature’s own luminescence as waves crashed onto the sands with a neon glow.
Finally arriving in Miami as the year peaked to its festive crescendo, art enthusiasts celebrated the unveiling of a large-scale interactive sculpture in Art Basel Miami Beach. This sculpture allowed participants to walk through mirror-lined corridors reflecting infinitely color-changing lights, creating an immersive experience that blurred lines between art and observer.
Each of these highlights proved that from NYC to Miami, there had been no shortage of awe-inspiring BITW moments as we said goodbye to another year. It was clear that innovation, beauty, and wonder were alive and flourishing across this corridor—inspiring us for what’s yet to come next year.
