The WB was home to a number of iconic shows that defined a generation. From heartwarming family dramas to supernatural thrillers, the network gave us stories and characters that still resonate with fans today. Here is a nostalgic look back at the 15 best WB shows of all time, ranked by their quintessential WB-ness — that unique blend of charm, drama, and an indelible cultural impact.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer – This seminal show blended action, horror, and wit with teen angst to become a cultural phenomenon.

2. Gilmore Girls – With its quick-witted dialogue and lovable characters, this mother-daughter drama had us all wanting to move to Stars Hollow.

3. Charmed – Power of Three will set us free! Charmed mixed sisterhood with the supernatural long before it was mainstream.

4. Dawson’s Creek – A coming-of-age story that became synonymous with teenage melodrama and introduced us to iconic characters.

5. Smallville – This show chronicled the early years of Superman in a fresh way and left a lasting legacy on superhero storytelling.

6. Felicity – College life got a deep dive with Felicity’s earnest exploration of love and self-discovery.

7. Roswell – Aliens in high school? Roswell combined sci-fi intrigue with teen drama perfectly.

8. Angel – A spin-off from Buffy, it carved out its own dark and brooding niche in the Buffyverse.

9. One Tree Hill – More than basketball, One Tree Hill was about dreams, relationships, and life’s challenges.

10. Supernatural – Though it began in the last days of The WB, it carried the spirit of the network forward in its tale of two brothers against otherworldly foes.

11. Everwood – An emotional family drama set in a charming small town; Everwood tugged at viewers’ heartstrings every week.

12. 7th Heaven – The longest-running family drama series which dealt with both light-hearted and serious themes alike.

13. The Jamie Foxx Show – This show offered a mix of comedy and romance with Jamie Foxx’s undeniable charisma leading the way.

14. Popular – High school hierarchy was never more entertainingly dissected than in this ahead-of-its-time series.

15. Jack & Bobby – A short-lived gem about two brothers; one destined to be President.

These shows shaped The WB into a defining aspect of 90s and early 2000s pop culture. They each carried that unique blend of heartfelt storytelling and an ability to connect deeply with audiences — making them not just memorable TV moments but part of our shared history.

Each show on this list encapsulates different aspects of what fans came to love about The WB: from fantasy worlds to the all-too-real problems faced by teenagers growing up at the turn of the millennium. They stood out not only due to their popularity or longevity but because they each captured something essential about their era — something undeniably ‘WB’.
