Samsung has recently released two new smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. These watches are the successors to the popular Galaxy Watch 4, which was released in August of 2021. In this article, we’ll take a look at the new features of the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro and compare them to their predecessor.

Design

The design of the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro is similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4. They both have a circular display with a rotating bezel for navigation. However, the new watches are slightly thinner and lighter than their predecessor. The Galaxy Watch 5 has a stainless steel case with a leather strap, while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a titanium case with a metal strap.

Display

The display on both watches is similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4. They both have a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. However, Samsung claims that the new watches have improved visibility in bright sunlight.

Battery Life

The battery life on both watches is similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4. They both have a battery life of up to four days with typical usage.

Health Features

The health features on both watches are similar to those on the Galaxy Watch 4. They both have heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen monitoring, and sleep tracking. However, Samsung claims that the new watches have improved accuracy in these features.

Software

The software on both watches is similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 4. They both run on Samsung’s Tizen operating system and have access to the same apps and watch faces.

Price

The price of the Galaxy Watch 5 starts at $249, while the price of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro starts at $349. This is slightly more expensive than the Galaxy Watch 4, which started at $199.

Conclusion

Overall, the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro are minor upgrades to the Galaxy Watch 4. They have similar designs, displays, battery life, health features, and software. The main differences are in the materials used for the case and strap and the improved accuracy of some health features. If you’re looking for a new smartwatch and don’t already own a Galaxy Watch 4, then the Galaxy Watch 5 or 5 Pro might be worth considering. However, if you already own a Galaxy Watch 4, then there’s no need to upgrade unless you really want the new materials or improved health features.
