Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review: Note 9 could still reel you in after the Note 10 launch

Spread the love

In the fast-paced world of smartphones, new models are launched, and older ones get overshadowed. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 still holds its ground even after the launch of the Note 10 and for good reasons. The device packs an impressive array of features and continues to attract users who are interested in a high-performing yet more affordable option.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 boasts a stunning design with a metal frame sandwiched between Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. It measures 6.4 inches and flaunts a Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display that provides sharp, vibrant, and detailed visuals with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. While it might be slightly heavier at 201 grams compared to the Note 10, it feels premium and sturdy when held.

Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy Note 9 packs a powerful Exynos 9810 octa-core processor (or Snapdragon 845 for those in the US) which delivers outstanding performance. It comes with two storage options — 128GB with 6GB RAM or a massive 512GB with 8GB RAM. This means you can multitask efficiently without experiencing any significant lags.

Battery Life

One of the most notable aspects of this device is its battery life. The Note 9 houses a whopping 4000mAh battery that easily lasts an entire day even with heavy usage like gaming or watching videos. With moderate use, it can even last up to two days.

Camera

The camera department is where the Note 9 doesn’t disappoint either. Its dual-lens setup comprises of a pair of optically stabilized sensors—a primary wide-angle lens sporting Dual Pixel PDAF autofocus and an f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture for excellent low-light performance. Additionally, it includes a telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture providing 2x optical zoom. The result? Stunning images, vibrant colors, and sharp details, even in low light conditions.

S Pen

The S Pen on the Note 9 is its crowning glory. With Bluetooth functionality, you can control presentations, click selfies from a distance or even use it as a remote control for media playback. The pressure-sensitive S Pen also offers enhanced productivity features that appeal to creative individuals and professionals alike.

Price and Conclusion

Though the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has already been released, there’s no denying that the Galaxy Note 9 continues to offer great value to users. It is currently available for a lower price than its successor, making it an attractive option for those who desire top-of-the-line features but are on a budget.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a powerful smartphone with impressive features and are willing to overlook the not-so-current status of the device, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 still remains a worthy option even after the launch of the Note 10.
