Reasons Why You Should NOT Buy a Bluetooth Keyboard

Bluetooth keyboards have become hugely popular in recent years, especially among people who use mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. They provide a convenient way to type on-the-go without having to lug around a bulky laptop or desktop computer. However, despite their popularity, there are some reasons why you might want to think twice before buying a Bluetooth keyboard for your mobile device.

1. They Can Be Expensive

One of the biggest drawbacks of Bluetooth keyboards is that they can be quite pricey. Depending on the brand and features, a Bluetooth keyboard can cost anywhere from $20 to several hundred dollars. When you consider that you can buy a basic keyboard for your desktop computer for less than $10, this is a significant investment.

2. They Can Be Unreliable

While Bluetooth technology has come a long way in recent years, it is still not infallible. Bluetooth keyboards can be prone to connectivity issues, especially if the battery is low or if there are other electronic devices nearby that are causing interference. This can lead to frustrating lag times and missed keystrokes.

3. They Can Drain Your Battery

Bluetooth keyboards require power to operate, which means that they can quickly drain the battery on your mobile device. This is especially true if you are using the keyboard for extended periods of time. While you can usually recharge your keyboard using a USB cable, being tethered to a wall outlet defeats the purpose of having a mobile device in the first place.

4. They Can Be Heavy and Bulky

While Bluetooth keyboards are smaller and more portable than traditional desktop keyboards, they can still be quite bulky and heavy. This can make them a hassle to carry around with you, especially if you are traveling or are always on-the-go.

5. They Are Not Always Compatible

Not all mobile devices are compatible with Bluetooth keyboards. This means that if you have a device that is not compatible, you will not be able to use the keyboard. Additionally, not all Bluetooth keyboards are compatible with all mobile devices, so you will need to do your research and make sure that the keyboard you are interested in will work with your device.
