Pokemon Go has once again introduced an exciting opportunity for players to challenge and catch the mythical Pokemon, Genesect. As one of the highly sought-after encounters in the game, trainers will need to know the best strategies and Pokemon to use in battle against Genesect. This guide will provide you with all the essential information on its weaknesses, moveset, and ideal counters.

Weaknesses:

Genesect is a Bug/Steel-type Pokémon which makes it weak against Fire-type moves. These types of moves can exploit its dual vulnerabilities effectively in a raid battle. It’s essential for trainers to choose the right combination of Fire-type Pokémon as counters when facing Genesect.

Moveset:

Understanding Genesect’s moveset is crucial before jumping into a raid. Its fast move can either be Metal Claw or Fury Cutter, while its three possible charged moves are Magnet Bomb, Hyper Beam, and Techno Blast. The most dangerous charged move to watch out for is Techno Blast because it inflicts significant amounts of damage.

Best Counters:

When forming a raid party against Genesect, aim for high DPS (Damage Per Second) and TDO (Total Damage Output) Fire-type Pokémon that have access to Fire-type moves. Here are some of the top counters for Genesect:

1. Reshiram: With both fast and charged moves being Fire-type (Fire Fang and Overheat), this legendary Pokémon is among the best counters for Genesect.

2. Chandelure: Boasting Ghost/Fire typing, Chandelure is another great choice against Genesect because of its high damage output. It can use Incinerate as its fast move and Overheat as its charged move.

3. Heatran: As a Fire/Steel type Pokémon itself, Heatran takes reduced damage from Steel-type moves and has a strong Fire-type moveset featuring Fire Spin and Flamethrower.

4. Darmanitan: With high attack stats, Darmanitan is an excellent counter using its Fire Fang as the fast move and Overheat for its charged move.

5. Charizard: This fan-favorite Pokémon is another optimal Genesect counter with a strong moveset like Fire Spin and Blast Burn.

6. Blaziken: Blaziken is known for its versatility in taking on different raid bosses. Its Counter fast move combined with its charged move, Blast Burn, can deal severe damage to Genesect.

Conclusion:

As you prepare for your Genesect raid battles, it’s essential to remember that teamwork plays a significant role. Collaborate with fellow trainers to build the most efficient Fire-type team and utilize this guide’s information to ensure you have a successful encounter with the mythical Genesect.
