Introduction

Deoxys, a Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon from the third generation, has been an exciting addition to the Pokémon Go universe. With its multiple forms in Attack, Defense, Normal and Speed, Deoxys offers a dynamic gameplay experience for trainers of all levels. This guide will focus on Deoxys’ raid battles, delving into its weaknesses, best counters and optimal moveset.

Weaknesses

Deoxys is a pure Psychic-type Pokémon and therefore has three main weaknesses – Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. To succeed in a Deoxys raid battle, trainers need to exploit these weaknesses with powerful counters.
Best Counters

1. Tyranitar (Dark)

Tyranitar’s Bite/Crunch combination is highly effective against Deoxys. As a Dark/Rock-type Pokémon with impressive attack and defense stats, Tyranitar easily takes on Deoxys in any raid battle.

2. Gengar (Ghost/Poison)

Gengar’s Lick/Shadow Ball move set is deadly for a Deoxys encounter. Although its Poison type makes it vulnerable to Psychic attacks, Gengar’s high DPS (Damage Per Second) makes up for this deficiency when battling against Deoxys.

3. Darkrai (Dark)

Darkrai’s Snarl/Dark Pulse combination proves lethal for Deoxys raids. As a Mythical Dark-type Pokémon with high attack stats, Darkrai poses a significant threat to any form of Deoxys in raids.

4. Chandelure (Ghost/Fire)

Chandelure is another unique counter for Deoxys with its Hex/Shadow Ball moveset. Its Ghost/Fire typing allows it to deal considerable damage while surviving Psychic-type attacks from Deoxys.

5. Weavile (Dark/Ice)

Weavile’s Feint Attack/Foul Play move set is another powerful counter against Deoxys. With its Dark/Ice typing and high attack stats, Weavile can bring down Deoxys in no time.

Optimal Moveset

Deoxys has a versatile moveset that varies depending on its form. In Normal form, its Charged Attacks include Psycho Boost, Thunderbolt, and Hyper Beam. For the Attack form, Deoxys can learn Zap Cannon, Dark Pulse, and the Psychic-type Charged Attack of Psycho Boost. In Defense form, Deoxys has access to Rock Slide, Thunderbolt, and Psycho Boost. Lastly, in Speed form, Deoxys learns Swift, Electro Ball, and Psycho Boost.

Conclusion

Raiding Deoxys may prove challenging due to its multiple forms and powerful movesets. However, with the right counters and exploiting its weaknesses in Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves, trainers can successfully defeat Deoxys in Pokémon Go raids. May your battles be filled with excitement as you catch this elusive Mythical Pokémon!
