When it comes to smartphone cameras, zoom capabilities have become an essential feature for many users. The Pixel 7 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra are two of the latest flagship phones that offer impressive camera zoom capabilities. In this article, we’ll compare the camera zoom features of these two phones and see which one comes out on top.

Zoom Capabilities

The Pixel 7 Pro has a triple-camera setup with a primary sensor of 50 MP, an ultra-wide sensor of 12 MP, and a telephoto sensor of 48 MP. The phone offers up to 4x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, has a quad-camera setup with a primary sensor of 108 MP, an ultra-wide sensor of 12 MP, a periscope telephoto sensor of 10 MP, and a telephoto sensor of 10 MP. The phone offers up to 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

Image Quality

Both phones offer excellent image quality when it comes to zooming in on subjects. However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s higher optical zoom capabilities give it an edge over the Pixel 7 Pro when it comes to capturing distant subjects with more detail. The S22 Ultra’s periscope telephoto lens also allows for better image stabilization when taking photos at high magnification levels.

Other Camera Features

While both phones excel in terms of zoom capabilities, they also offer several other camera features that are worth mentioning. The Pixel 7 Pro features Google’s new Tensor chip, which helps improve image processing and allows for new camera features like Magic Eraser. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, offers several new camera features like Director’s View, which allows you to switch between different camera lenses while recording video, and Zoom Lock, which helps stabilize images when taking photos at high magnification levels.

Price

The Pixel 7 Pro is priced at $899 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to be priced at around $1,199.

Conclusion

Overall, both phones offer impressive zoom capabilities and excellent image quality. However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s higher optical zoom capabilities give it an edge over the Pixel 7 Pro when it comes to capturing distant subjects with more detail. If you’re looking for a phone with the best camera zoom capabilities and don’t mind spending extra money, then the Galaxy S22 Ultra is definitely worth considering. However, if you’re looking for a more affordable option that still offers excellent camera zoom capabilities, then the Pixel 7 Pro is a great choice.
