Oddly Satisfying Sites and Apps for Your Brain’s Pleasure

In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves feeling stressed and overwhelmed. That’s why it’s no surprise that the oddly satisfying trend has taken the internet by storm. These sites and apps offer a much-needed break from our hectic lives by providing us with calming and pleasing content.

One of the most popular oddly satisfying sites is ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos on YouTube. These videos feature soft, soothing sounds and visuals that trigger pleasurable sensations in the brain. The sounds range from whispers and tapping to scratching and crinkling, and the visuals include everything from people slicing soap to scraping a bowl of slime. The gentle noises and repetitive motions have a calming effect on the mind, making it easier to relax and unwind.

Another popular site is Instagram’s #oddlysatisfying hashtag, which features short videos of everything from people cutting clay to satisfyingly filling a jar with marbles. Similar to ASMR videos, these videos provide a sense of comfort and pleasure to those who watch them. The satisfaction comes from watching various objects and materials interact in ways that are both predictable and unexpected.

If you’re looking for an app that provides fleeting moments of pure joy, look no further than Noodlecake’s game “Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.” In the game, you play as a man trapped in a cauldron and must use a sledgehammer to climb up an impossible mountain. The game is challenging and infuriating, but the satisfaction that comes from successfully scaling a seemingly insurmountable obstacle is unparalleled.

For those looking for a more meditative experience, there’s the app “Flowy” which allows you to trace different patterns on the screen. The app’s calming soundtrack and fluid motions will put you in a trance-like state and help you focus on the present moment.

Lastly, for the OCD in all of us, there’s the site “Oddly Satisfying Subreddit” which features endless GIFs of perfect loops, neatly organized shelves, and various other aesthetically pleasing sights. The subreddit is home to a community of people who find comfort in order and symmetry.

Overall, these sites and apps provide an escape from the stress of daily life and offer a moment of peace and pleasure. Whether you’re into ASMR, satisfying hashtags, challenging games, meditative apps, or organized shelves, there’s something for everyone in the world of oddly satisfying content. Give them a try and see for yourself the calming effect they can have on your mind.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
