Nokia G10 Review

The Nokia G10 is the latest offering from Nokia, a brand known for its reliable and affordable smartphones. It is a budget-friendly device that provides value for money in terms of design, performance, and features. In this review, we will take a closer look at the various aspects of the Nokia G10 and help you decide whether it’s worth considering as your next smartphone purchase.

Design and Build Quality:

The Nokia G10 features a simple yet elegant design with a plastic body that comes in two color options – Dusk and Night. Despite the affordable price, it does not feel cheap and has a premium-like finish. The device has a waterdrop notch on its 6.5-inch HD+ display and relatively thick bezels around it.

The rear panel houses the triple camera setup, which includes a 13-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is also an LED flash positioned right below the cameras. Additionally, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor is neatly integrated into the power button on the device’s right side.

Display:

The Nokia G10 boasts an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels resulting in decent color accuracy and contrast levels. The display can get reasonably bright for indoor use but might struggle slightly under direct sunlight. Given its budget nature, it does not offer high refresh rates or HDR support.

Performance and Software:

Underneath the hood, this smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage (up to 512 GB via microSD slot). This configuration provides satisfactory performance during daily tasks like browsing social media or messaging apps but may falter during heavy multitasking or gaming.

One of the highlighted features of the Nokia G10 is its near-stock Android experience. The device runs on Android 11 out of the box, and with Nokia’s history of timely updates, it can expect to have at least two more major updates.

Battery Life:

The standout feature of the Nokia G10 is its massive 5,050mAh battery which can easily last through two full days of moderate usage. The device comes bundled with a 10W charger, but considering the battery size, charging might be a bit slow. Nevertheless, having such endurance could make up for it.

Camera Performance:

The triple camera setup on the Nokia G10 captures decent photos in well-lit environments. However, in low-light conditions, it might struggle to produce sharp and detailed images. The macro and depth sensors are average at best but provide some flexibility in photography options.

Conclusion:

The Nokia G10 is a budget-friendly smartphone with a prime focus on providing users with outstanding battery life. While it lacks flagship features and performance capabilities, it should cater to those who prioritize longevity and a near-stock Android experience in their smartphones. If you are looking for an affordable device that will get you through days of usage without regularly reaching for a charger, then the Nokia G10 may be worth considering.
