In recent years, the budget smartphone market has become increasingly competitive with numerous quality options from various brands. Among these, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus stands out as a top choice for users seeking an affordable and yet capable device. Here is a comprehensive review of the Moto G5 Plus that will help you decide if it’s the right option for you.

Design and Build

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus sports a sleek metal unibody design that is both sturdy and stylish. The device features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display offering vibrant colors and crisp visuals. The front-facing fingerprint scanner is conveniently placed below the screen, making it easily accessible. On the back, you’ll find a circular primary camera module and the classic Motorola “M” logo.

Performance

Under the hood, the Moto G5 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, clocked at 2.0 GHz coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on the model. This ensures smooth multitasking and satisfactory performance for gaming and daily tasks.

Storage wise, it comes in two variants – one with 32GB of internal storage (supporting up to 128GB via microSD card) and another with 64GB (expandable as well). This provides ample space for apps, photos, and other media.

Camera

One of the standout features of the Moto G5 Plus is its camera setup. The primary camera boasts a 12MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and dual auto-focus pixels, delivering sharp pictures with excellent color accuracy even in low light conditions. For selfies, a 5MP front-facing camera captures decent images that should satisfy casual users.

Battery Life

With a non-removable 3,000mAh battery on board, the Moto G5 Plus consistently provides all-day usage on a single charge. Furthermore, it supports Motorola’s TurboPower fast-charging technology, replenishing the battery quickly to minimize charging times.

Software and Additional Features

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus runs on stock Android 7.0 Nougat, offering a clean, intuitive interface for users who prefer an uncluttered experience. The OS comes with minimal bloatware, ensuring efficient use of available resources.

Some notable features include Moto Display, which offers discreet notifications without waking the entire screen and Moto Actions – a set of convenient gestures to perform specific tasks quickly.

Conclusion

Overall, the Motorola Moto G5 Plus is an outstanding option for users seeking the perfect blend of affordability, performance, and features. With a reliable processor, excellent camera setup, strong battery life, and a clean user interface, it’s easy to see why this device has earned its title as one of the best budget phones in the market today.
